I hope that everyone has a happy and safe Christmas!
Kally is another Lincoln, Nebraska native, representin’ in NYC. She’s been working as an actress in New York City for the past 5 years, and I haven’t seen her in about that amount of time, so it was really fun to catch up. But it was even more fun to reminisce about the good old days of performing in community theatre in Lincoln. We were in a children’s theatre production of Bugsy Malone when we were teenagers, (a highlight of our careers, right Kally?) I played Tallulah, and Kally played Lena. Since ours was the first production ever done in the United States, the licensing company filmed it, to give as a reference to other companies producing the show. Yep, our awkward teenage performances were caught on tape and preserved for all time. Lucky us! Thankfully, this was before the days of YouTube…
Best friends Taylor and Tara shared their senior shoot. Seriously, how GORGEOUS are these two???
Here’s Taylor up first…
And Tara!
I met up with the gorgeous Reba last week in NYC to shoot some new headshots. Reba is originally from Nebraska and moved to New York a couple of months ago, so it was fun to chat about our shared experiences of moving from the Midwest to the big city!
Thanks for choosing me as your headshot photographer, Reba! I had a blast working with you!
November 11, 2011 - 3:32 pm - Natural light for these? If so, amazing amazing amazing! If not, still super duper amazing work, as always Alyson.
November 11, 2011 - 3:46 pm - Thanks Matt! Yep, mostly natural light. Some are a mixture of natural light and studio lights. :-)
It’s November! What a crazy whirlwind fall this has been! I’m back from New York, and I’m now hard at work catching up on proofs and print orders. If you’re waiting on a book, prints or proofs, I promise they are coming very, very soon. I appreciate everyone’s patience!
For those wanting to order prints for Christmas, the deadline is Dec 10th. If you would like to set up a time to meet at the studio and get your print order in, just shoot me an email. Starting next week, I have lots of available appointment times.

Three years ago I shot senior pictures for Joslyn’s older sister Taylor. At that time I was just dabbling in photography, and wasn’t really sure if high school senior photography was a direction I really wanted to go. Taylor’s shoot was so fun and creative that it made me decide that the following year I would really go for it, and Taylor was super helpful with posting pictures on facebook, and helping to get my name out there. So needless to say, shooting her younger sister Joslyn, (who is the spitting image of Taylor!) was extra special for me. And this shoot was equally as fun and creative as Taylor’s was. It was also fun to reminisce about the “early” days- when I shot Taylor’s pics three years ago, I was using a piece of cardboard with foil attached as a reflector. Haha! I’m proud to say I have better equipment now.
