My entrepreneuiral spirit began at the age of 8, when I opened my first business, Maggie Bank, named after my childhood dog. I ironed my brother's shirts for $0.25 a piece, and pounded the pavement of my neighborhood passing out construction paper business cards, complete with a marker drawn logo. Unfortunately, Maggie Bank closed after just a short time in business, but the dream of being my own boss someday remained alive and well.
I moved to New York City to study dance and musical theatre at the age of 19, and spent several years working as a freelance choreographer, Pilates instructor, and professional deliverer of salad and breadsticks at the Olive Garden, before picking up my first camera in 2007. What started out as a hobby quickly became a full-time career, and now Alyson Edie Photography is in it's 8th year of business.
In 2014 I was honored to be named one of the top 100 senior photographers in the nation by Senior Style Guide magazine. In addition to my senior portrait business in Nebraska, I also frequently travel to New York City, where I work with professional dancers and actors, and high school seniors from across the nation. When I'm not out on photo shoots or editing in front of my computer, I enjoy cooking, reading, shopping, going out to eat, watching nerdy documentaries on Netflix, and hanging out with my dog, Chloe.
I am currently booking New York City shoots for June and July 2017, and Class of 2018 seniors for the summer and fall of 2017.
