This is definitely one of my fave shoots from the Class of 2017 so far! Ashly is from South Dakota, and she was visiting NYC in the spring to visit modeling agencies. Needless to say, I was more than a little excited when her mom contacted me about shooting her senior pictures in New York City! We started out in Central Park, stopped at their hotel in midtown for a makeup change, and then raced to Brooklyn before we ran out of light. Although this shoot was loads of fun, we did run into a few snags along the way. We had a driver set up to help us save on commuting time, and... well, let's just say there was a bit of a language barrier there, and he subsequently abandoned us in midtown after our first stop. We aren't entirely sure what happened to him- either he didn't understand where he needed to go to pick us up, or he just decided he didn't want to be our driver anymore, (even though he had already been paid.)  Anyway, we needed to get back to the hotel as quickly as possible so we grabbed a cab, and it turns out that hailing a cab on 5th Ave in midtown Manhattan at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon should be an Olympic sport. Once we finally got back to the hotel and our amazing makeup artist Nikki Fontaine was working on the next makeup look, it started RAINING! We were freezing and we were losing light fast while we practically ran to the Brooklyn Bridge in the rain. Even though it was cold, and we were tired, Ashly didn't let it show in her pics and she kept modeling like a total pro!  Because of the rain and all the time we lost trying to find our driver, we decided to sacrifice sleep that night and we met up again early the next day for another quick shoot in Time Square. Even with the setbacks, it all worked out in the end, and I LOVE how this shoot turned out!Ashly has signed with Red Model Management in NYC and will be heading back to the city later this month! Walking the runways during NYC's fashion week is a pretty cool way to start out your senior year, if you ask me! Thank you so much for an amazing shoot Ashly!
